NBA Comparison: Dennis Rodman Notes on Ousmane Cisse
Combing Africa for the next Hakeem Olajuwon, they have found Ousmane Cisse. Two words: High energy. The 6'8" forward out of Mali, Africa is an intense beast of a player, swatting shots and eating glass like very few (if any) high school players have done. As a sophomore, Cisse averaged 21 points, 17 rebounds and 11 blocks and once swatted 17 shots in a game. His senior season he led St. Jude with 29 points, 16 rebounds and just under 13 blocked shots per game (though he missed the final 11 games with a knee injury). He drew raves when he dominated Tyson Chandler at the Nike All American Camp in Indianapolis.

Cisse is rarely ever quoted in newspapers as his guardian in the U.S. (suspiciously an attorney and agent) is very controlling. Has a "zero media interviews" policy and has threatened to call the police on newspapers that try to talk to Cisse.

Said one recruiter, "Cisse plays with the energy of a 5-year-old kid after two Slurpees."

Strengths of Ousmane Cisse
A true warrior. End to end 48-minute Energizer Bunny, with the size to boot. Tremendous shot blocking and rebounding instincts and never gives up on plays. Praised highly for his defense. Bulk and strength not a problem. Throws down thunderous dunks. Energy isn't limited to half-court game as he's well known for running the floor.
Weaknesses of Ousmane Cisse
While he's an electrifying defender, he's raw offensively. Limited offensive moves. Again not much known about him due to his "guardian" who controls his every move. Some even say he's 6'10" and 250 pounds, but could be more like 6-7".
Cisse on the Rockets?
You know it's hard to judge high school players, when 17 blocks could translate to 2 tops in the pros, but by all accounts Ousmane Cisse is a phenomenal athlete with a strength and intensity unmatched. The Rockets like to run, and so does Ousmane. Still raw and a project out of high school, but would he look good on the Rockets' front line? Could be a risk worth taking.
