NBA Comparison: Theo Ratliff Notes on Ken Johnson
If there is a true defensive specialist in the draft, Ken Johnson is probably it. He shattered Herb Williams' record as all time leading shot blocker in Ohio State history and had the ability to change games. Tom Brennan, the head coach at Vermont summed it up when he said, "I think Johnson is the best-kept secret in the country. His presence really bothered us. We wanted to go inside and he just totally negated that."

Johnson won't win any offensive awards but he was given the team MVP trophy this season and showed that he did have an offensive touch in his arsenal. He is projected as a middle to late first rounder.

Strengths of Ken Johnson
What else, shot blocking! Much like Ratliff, Johnson is fierce around the glass both as a shot blocker and rebounder. He has the ability to change the game on the defensive end. Johnson also has great size and leaping ability and is quick enough to run the floor.
Weaknesses of Ken Johnson
On the other hand, Johnson is NOT a great offensive player. In some cases, he could even be considered a liability on that end of the floor. He will need time to mature and develop an offensive game. He would probably be best suited for a back-up role where he can learn from an experienced veteran.
Johnson on the Rockets?
This is the type of guy I'm sure many Rockets fans would love to see on the team. He has hustle and intensity and knows how to block shots and rebound. He may be a luxury, however. The Rockets are more likely to opt for offensive threats and Johnson may not even be worth their last pick in the draft considering he could drop right to the bottom of the first round.
