When the Rockets traded three first-round draft picks (one of which was Richard Jefferson) in 2001 to the New Jersey Nets for Eddie Griffin, it was viewed as a great move by the Rockets - by myself as well.
However, Jefferson made the Rockets look foolish Monday night.
The second-year forward out of Arizona went off for his first career triple-double with 30 points, 11 assists and 10 boards in the Nets 110-86 rout of the Rockets in New Jersey.
Eddie Griffin on the other hand went 2-9 from the floor for 7 points.
Yao Ming led the Rockets, who were playing without Cuttino Mobley, with 24 points and Yao did in fact take a fierce (and intentional) elbow to the throat from Dikembe Mutombo in the second quarter, but did it break his collarbone and end his season? Definitely not.
