Francis snaps out of slump, Rockets rout Bulls by 27
By Clutch

Any question? Francis finally got the picture that he needs to shoot the damn ball -- making 10-15 shots for 28 points and still managed the unselfish play (8 assists to just 2 turnovers)
Jerry Krause paid him how much? When you take 15 shots you better score double figures at a minimum.... Ronnie couldn't manage. Mercer clanged the iron 11 times.
Elton Brand vs. Steve Francis?

No contest.

Francis exploded for 28 points and the Rockets torched the Bulls with 55% shooting to cruise to a 27-point rout in the Compaq Center.

The win ups the Rockets' record to 4-5.

After less than 30% shooting and just 10 points against the Lakers, Francis snapped out of his weekend slump in grand fashion, going off for 28 points on 10-15 shooting, 8 assists and 4 boards -- not to mention as many steals (2) as turnovers.

Most importantly of all, Francis shot the ball. If anyone has been guilty of too much unselfish play lately, it's been Steve and it looks like Rudy told him so.

"Steve played a great game," Tomjanovich said. "We want Steve to shoot more. I just wanted him to hear it from my mouth. We want him to look for the open shot."

Damn, does Cuttino Mobley know how to score in garbage time or what? Before you could blink Cat put up 20 points thanks to 4-5 from three-point land and added 6 boards. Maurice Taylor scored 10 of his 12 points in the first quarter and hit 5 of his first 7 shots (though he missed his last 4).

Kenny Thomas played very well, knocking down 10 points and grabbing 7 boards off the bench. Hakeem Olajuwon also scored 10 points to go with 4 boards.

Jason Collier did not play -- he left the arena before the game with the flu. Seeing his PT was Carlos Rogers, who finished with 6 points and 3 boards in 10 minutes.

Brand led the Bulls with 16 points and 9 boards but turned it over 6 times. Corey Benjamin added 13 and Ron Artest 12.

Memo to Tim Floyd: please, please, please feed Jamal Crawford! A burger, some fries.... something. This guy looks like a praying mantis out there. Out of Michigan? Looks more like the rook came out of the Calista Flockhart School of Culinary Arts.
