Last Tuesday, the Rockets shocked many by waiving their surprise backup two-guard from 2001-2002: Oscar Torres.
In fact, some seem to think the Rockets gave up on developing the Venezuelan guard too soon.
A source close to the team told ClutchCity.net Monday night that Torres himself was shocked the team cut him and that having to leave Houston "hit him hard", but the good news is he won't be unemployed long.
According to the source, Torres has stuck a deal with the Golden State Warriors and it will be formally announced by the club "tomorrow or Wednesday". The Warriors organization convinced Oscar that there will be minutes available to him behind Jason Richardson and that he will have a strong opportunity to compete and develop.
Torres reportedly was very thankful for the opportunity he had in Houston, but he is "circling the game" on his calendar when the Warriors face the Rockets on November 9th.
