Rockets Deal Kenny For Posey
A deal was inevitable, and it came Wednesday.

The Rockets have traded Kenny Thomas to the Philadelphia 76ers, a source told ClutchCity.net on Wednesday. What the Rockets would receive wasn't immediately known, but the news came fast and furious.

James Posey is coming to Houston.

The deal is a three-team trade with Philly sending a first round pick, Mark Bryant and Art Long to Denver and Posey heading to Clutch City. Houston also sends a second round pick to Denver.

The trade is pending the outcome of physicals from all the players involved.

Posey is a hell of a defender, and should have an impact on the Rockets right away. He is versatile -- able to play both the three and the two, giving some spells to Cuttino Mobley as needed. He's averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 boards and 3.1 assists, but is hitting just 37% from the floor and 27% from long range.

His defensive intensity at the position will be a welcome addition right off the bat.

While the Nuggets got worked in the deal, the Sixers clearly made out well.

They gave up little for Thomas, and look for Kenny to have an impact there. His hard work, hustle and defense will pay off as he was clearly the best one-on-one defender in the post that the Rockets had. However, the Rockets had to do something with the logjam at the four with Eddie Griffin needing time to develop and Mo Taylor needing time period.

Kenny told me at Austin training camp that he worked out with the Sixers players over the summer, so no doubt he will fit in well there.
