While we have been waxing nostalgic for losing Kenny Thomas, the newest Rocket is thrilled to be here.
James Posey told the Houston Chronicle he was excited to be joining an up-and-coming squad with players he knows well.
"I'm excited. It all came as a surprise to me, but I'm really looking forward to it."
Added Posey, who lives in Houston in the offseason, "I already know a lot of the guys there, so that part (getting adjusted) will be easier. The Rockets are making some good moves, and I think they're moving in the right direction. But I wasn't expecting this at all. I was halfway to the arena when I talked to my agent, and he told me to turn around and go back home. And that's what I did."
Posey's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told the Rocky Mountain News that if it had to happen, Houston was the place.
"I think the trade is going to be a good thing for James," said Bartelstein. "He certainly has warm feelings for the Nuggets because they gave him an opportunity. But they're rebuilding and are a bit away. If he had to be traded, the Rockets are a great situation. They're on the verge of breaking through."
Nick Van Exel, a former Nugget, added that he may be just as excited as Posey.
"Posey is real excited to go to Houston. He is going to stay at my house when he moves there, and I am going to try to sell it to him."
