Les, CD Meet With Larry Brown
Neither Larry Brown nor the Rockets are wasting any time.

The ink is barely dry on his resignation papers from Philly, but Brown met with Rockets owner Les Alexander and GM Carroll Dawson Tuesday to discuss the Rockets head coaching position, just one day after Brown stepped down as the Sixers head man.

According to one source, the meeting, which took place in New York City, went very well.

While both Brown's agent and Dawson made public comments that the search continues and neither is saying the other is necessarily their top choice, it just doesn't fit with what I've been hearing and with what seems to be going on. At this stage, I would really be floored if Brown wasn't the man, but stranger things have happened.

The Rockets also interviewed Jeff Van Gundy in Dallas on Monday and as well talked extensively with former Rocket Mike Dunleavy.

While Van Gundy wouldn't comment on the interview, saying it could only hurt him, Dunleavy spoke positively of the meeting and the position.

"From my perspective it was a good meeting. I enjoyed our talk. It's obviously a good opportunity," said the former head coach of the Lakers and Blazers.

The Rockets reportedly want to discuss the position with Orlando coach Doc Rivers as well.
