Frahm could aid Rocket shooting woes
A team centered around Yao Ming, as the Rockets clearly are, needs efficient shooters like pizza needs cheese, so it's no surprise that they are close to signing guard Richie Frahm.

The 6-foot-5 Frahm, who was recently waived by the Timberwolves, isn't different than most of the other players the Rockets have added recently, in that he isn't a big minute, solid rotation player.

But he is different in this sense: He can shoot.

Frahm was a big-time shooter in college, never hitting below 40% from long range and draining 42.3% from beyond the arc for his 4-year college career. He averaged 16.9 points in his senior season of 2000.

He went undrafted that year, playing a couple of seasons in the IBL and ABA. Frahm opened camp in Portland in 2002, but was waived before the season and left to play ball in Turkey that season.

He got his first NBA action in 2003-04, playing with Seattle, then Portland the following season and Minnesota this season. He was hitting just under 38% from downtown for his career before entering this year, but he struggled as a Timberpup, hitting just 15-48 triples in limited action.
