The emergency brake lever has been pulled in Golden State.
After amassing just 9 points in the second quarter against Memphis Tuesday night, the Warriors briskly walked their way to a 100-75 drumming at the hands of the Grizzlies. Chucky Atkins did the damage with 22 points, helping Golden State pull off it's 5th straight loss to leapfrog to the 8th spot.
"I knew if we could somehow get him on his game or make it easy for him to score, our chances of losing the game were high," said Golden State guard Derek Fisher, who had the primary defensive assignment against Atkins.
Houston thankfully kept the pace, letting Chris Wilcox (27 points, 24 rebounds) feel good about his "potential" again, in an 87-104 defeat in Seattle. Minnesota also came up small, pulling off the upsetted of the night by getting outgunned by the Bobcats, while Boston put up a cowardly effort, but couldn't quite get nabbed by the nearly-extinct Raptors.
