If you thought you were stunned by the Rockets draft day trade of Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift for Shane Battier, imagine how Swift felt.
The 6-foot-9 forward spent five years with the Grizzlies organization but took less money to leave and join the Rockets this past summer. Swift had not been with the Rockets, his favorite team growing up, for even a year before word hit on Wednesday that he was being traded back to Memphis.
According to Saturday morning's Memphis Commercial-Appeal, Swift is less than thrilled with the trade and has yet to return any of the Grizzlies' phone calls.
Swift's agent Andy Miller told the paper that it was too soon to predict how Swift will react.
"It's a little shocking for him clearly," said Miller. "It's a business. We'll deal with it, and hopefully make this work."
Pro-Rudy Gay? Don't count on Swift throwing a wrench in the deal's works. If Jerry West can't make peace with Swift on the idea of coming back, he will likely make a second deal to find a new home for 'Stro.
