The Rockets are leaning heavily towards holding training camp in Austin this year, a source has confirmed to ClutchFans.

Team officials have been checking out the Cooley Pavilion on the campus of the University of Texas over the past few days and the Rockets are expected to hold their sessions there.

The decision would mark a Rocket return to Austin for training camp.

The Rockets held the preseason practice sessions at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin from 1999-2002 under Rudy Tomjanovich, but camp has remained in Houston since Jeff Van Gundy and the new arena came in to play.
