Tracy McGrady spoke to the media on Friday and the Rockets star said that he expected to be out atleast another 7 days with the injury.
"Getting better," said T-Mac, who conceded that he's also a little out of shape from being out. "I'm probably like a week away. I haven't even practiced yet, so I don't know how I really feel until I get out there and start running and cutting."
McGrady was well aware of the trade rumors swirling about him. The ClutchFans forum has lit up with McGrady trade buzz from media reports.
"It's nothing new -- I've been there," said McGrady. "You know what? I don't even pay any attention to it. I sit back and laugh. The teams that are trying to make deals really need help. Chicago. I don't know where that came from. There was a rumor that I said I was unhappy here and I wanted to go to Chicago. I never said anything about Chicago or anything about being traded. It happens when teams try to make deals they throw their name in there."
T-Mac also credited his teammates for how they've played without him.
"Those guys are playing extremely well. It gave them an opportunity to go out there and gain some confidence and they're playing well together. They're playing with alot of energy and moving the ball around. They're picking up for me."
McGrady did point out that the schedule has been favorable, saying that the team hasn't been facing the "Dallas and San Antonios" without him, but he liked what he's been seeing from Rafer Alston, Luther Head, Luis Scola and the rest.
"Hopefully when I come back, those guys continue to play that way. If they continue to play that way, and I get my rhythm and do the things that I do well, we could be a really good team.
