Dorsey aims to dodge rookie hazing
The only rookie on the squad, forward Joey Dorsey knows that rookie hazing is part of the NBA deal.

Only one thing -- he's trying to avoid it. Dorsey was supposed to take the veterans out to eat somewhere nice Monday night, but he went the cost-cutting route.

"I cut my phone off," said Dorsey. "I didn't take anyone out to eat. I was a bully in college so I'm trying to work my way. They didn't say nothing, so I guess I'm good. I saved a lot of money."

Dorsey wasn't naive though -- he knows more is coming.

"They told me I had to sing the national anthem. I'm going to have to do their laundry -- I don't do my own laundry," quipped Dorsey. "How am I going to do Tracy's or somebody's laundry? This is going to be crazy for me."

Dorsey also said that Tracy McGrady warned him to have his phone on and ready in the middle of the night... just in case the superstar guard needs a food delivery.

"I'm not waking up at 3 o'clock in the morning out of my bed going all the way where he stays at to get him Denny's," said Dorsey. "And he's not even going to eat it - I know he's not going to eat it."

On a serious side, Dorsey was the last one to leave the practice floor, staying late to work on post moves, mid-range jumpers and free throws. Sorry to report his free throw shooting was roughly 40-50% for the 15 or so I saw, but the coaches were working with him on it.
