April Fool's joke comes once a year, and ClutchFans tries to play the part each season.
This year's gag was more in the obvious category as far as jokes go, but it never ceases to amaze how you still hear from some who bought it (no doubt, with the help of some members who played along).
In a struggling economy, we "turned" to the guy who is no doubt unfazed by it, thanks to the miracle of the NBA guaranteed contract. McGrady, certainly one of the more polarizing figures at ClutchFans, supposedly bought the site and was adding it to his PR fluff machine.
We shut down the front page and BBS and redirected them to the announcement and introductory video.
That brought into my inbox quite a few two-word greetings from China. Here is the ClutchFans April Fool's joke history:
