The deal is officially done. The Rockets have signed Shandon Anderson to a 6-year, $42 million deal and dealt him to the New York Knicks for Glen Rice in a 3-team swap. Howard Eisley also goes to the Knicks while Muggsy Bogues goes to the Mavericks. The Rockets also receive second round draft pick Kyle Hill from Dallas while sending the trade exception received in the Hakeem deal to the Mavs. Rice's fat contract, 3 more years at roughly $28 million, hasn't fazed Rudy T, who is excited about Rice being on the roster.
"Glen Rice is a guy I've coveted and this organization has coveted for a long time because he is one of the premiere shooters in the league. He's a guy that fits with the young penetrating guys we have, and I have a really good feeling about him." Hope so. The Rockets renounced Matt Bullard, Sean Colson and Devon Gray to make room for the deal, possibly paving the way for Bullard to sign with the Hornets. ClutchCity.net first reported Thursday night the Rockets were pursuing a Rice-Shandon swap, which sparked a wildfire debate in the BBS.
