Do the Rockets Rebuild Now?

Mitch Lawrence of ESPN had this to say about the Rockets: "They're old and their stars spend more time on the injured list than on the basketball court, so what are the Rockets to do? That's easy. Clean house. Clyde Drexler is a free agent this summer. 'Don't be surprised if they let Drexler go at the end of the season,' said one league exec. 'And they might even trade Charles Barkley if they can get something for him.' Drexler and Barkley are not getting along, as usual. But there are more problems for Rudy Tomjanovich. Mario Elie is unhappy with his current money and wants an extension. The Rockets' three point guards, Matt Maloney, Emanual Davis and Brent Price, are playing poorly. That's why Houston has been trying to get Damon Stoudamire in a deal. They'll have to up their offer considerably at this point, after Toronto wisely turned down the chance to get Kevin Willis. But getting Stoudamire would be the first move in a long-needed rebuilding effort." Obviously I think the Rockets should give it one last crack at it before giving up, but landing younger players like Stoudamire is definitely required.
