The Houston Rockets are making their strongest lotto effort since the 1983-84 season. Needing a loss to stay within a half-game of the Cavs for the 5th spot, the Rockets sent Sonics fans home comfortably early, tanking for a solid 48 minutes in getting drilled by 30.

"It's very important as a team that we continue to not improve," said guard Stephen Francis. "We don't want to settle in even though we're losing."

Raptors management is calculating and adjusting their roster for the stretch dive, sitting Vince Carter for the rest of the year, but the plan backfired in Cleveland where the dino-brained Raptors couldn't outbrick Cleveland, tacking on a win by 14 points.

The Cavs may be our sleeper pick as any team that logs heavy minutes and shots for Ricky Davis is primed to make serious draft pick noise.

In other nosedive action, the Bulls show no signs of easing up on their vice-like grip on the top spot, losing easily at home to the Blazers while Pat Riley is smelling the Yao Ming sauce, driving his Heat to the 104-94 loss to the Pacers.
