Ryan Anderson — seriously, Ryan Anderson — put Alex Len on a poster with this vicious hammer dunk.

You rarely see Ryan Anderson dunk the ball.

You never see Ryan Anderson dunk the ball with authority.

But that’s exactly what happened Friday night. This dunk in the fourth quarter of Houston’s 112-95 win in Phoenix stole the show as Anderson took the pass from PJ Tucker, made a quick fake and then drove hard to the basket, shocking us all when he cocked back and unloaded this hammer dunk as if he was an Antetokounmpo cousin. Alex Len was helpless to stop Flyin’ Ryan as even Josh Jackson on the bench reacts as if Anderson had just killed his teammate.

Enjoy this video that shows the calls from both the ESPN and local broadcast of the game.

But where in the world did that come?

“We were saving that,” joked coach Mike D’Antoni. “I think it went straight to ‘Rare Footage in the NBA’. Went right to the vault.”

For Anderson’s part, he was pretty up front about how shocking it was.

“Don’t expect to see too much of that,” laughed Anderson.
