The season is almost over but playoff seeding has NOT been decided. With so much still to be decided, the final few days of regular season basketball will be must-see TV.

The Rockets have one game remaining as they go on the road to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Tuesday night. The NBA couldn’t be happier with how this season is ending with the Western Conference playoff seeding up in the air. A red-hot Houston team taking on the struggling Thunder with so much on the line in prime time on TNT will make for great ratings.

So with that said, here is your viewing guide for the final days of the NBA regular season…

If the Rockets beat the Thunder on Tuesday night…

and Denver finishes 1-1 or 0-2 Rockets are the 2nd seed

and Denver goes 2-0 Rockets are the 3rd seed

If the Rockets LOSE to the Thunder on Tuesday night…

and Denver goes 0-2 Rockets are the 2nd seed

and Denver goes 2-0 or 1-1, then Houston fans have to watch Portland.

If Portland goes 1-1 or 0-2 Rockets are the 3rd seed
If Portland goes 2-0 Rockets are the 4th seed

Denver plays at Utah on Tuesday and hosts Minnesota on Wednesday. Portland plays on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday then comes home to face Sacramento on Wednesday.

Obviously the worst case scenario is Rockets losing, Denver winning at least one and then Portland winning out. That would put Houston all the way to the 4th seed.

Beat OKC and you are locked in to no worse than 3. Lose to OKC? Well, then you are scoreboard watching.
