Rockets Trade Royce White To Sixers

As expected, the Rockets are continuing to clear cap space, sending failed experiment Royce White to Philadelphia in a trade.

For the Rockets, Royce White was trouble from the start

As the Dwightmare begins, the Whitemare comes to an end.

In a move that is not surprising to say the least, the Rockets have traded away Royce White, sending the 6-foot-8 forward to Philadelphia, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Though the exact details of the deal have not yet been posted, the report says the Rockets will send cash and the draft rights to an International prospect to Philly. An “international prospect” means one of Furkan Aldemir, Sergio Llull, Kostas Papanikolaou or Marko Todorovic, and since Hinkie was part of the Rockets when they drafted Aldemir and Llull, my money is on one of those guys. (UPDATE: Indeed it was Aldemir that the Rockets traded to Philly.)

We wrote on Monday that White wasn’t working out with the Rockets and had not been with the team since the first road trip last season. The entire year consisted of White fighting the Rockets as he insisted they weren’t taking care of his mental health needs, so this ends a short and absolutely brutal and unproductive Rocket career for White.
