Rough Night for the Franchise Steve Francis returned "home" to Washington to go just 1-13 from the floor |
Unbelievable game, but a tough result to swallow.
The Rockets were getting slaughtered, down 20 in the third and down 16 heading in to the fourth, but Mo Taylor had an amazing fourth quarter and Cuttino Mobley nailed a clutch three with 13 seconds left to force an improbable overtime.
Taylor (10-12 shooting, 23 points) continued his torrid shooting in OT, but a terrible goaltending call on a Yao Ming block of Michael Jordan and a desperation shot by Jerry Stackhouse proved too much as the Wizards won 100-98 in Washington.
The Rockets forced a Wizards miss with 6 seconds left, but Steve Francis (1-13 shooting - yes, that's correct) didn't call timeout and all the Rockets could get was a desperation three attempt from Mobley as the horn sounded.
