The Houston Rockets, led by Hakeem Olajuwon, Ralph Sampson and head coach Bill Fitch, won the 1986 Western Conference Championship in five games over Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the Los Angeles Lakers. Lewis Lloyd, Robert Reid, Rodney McCray and Mitchell Wiggins also made key contributions.
